LUGSB exists to promote the use of Linux, Open Source, and Free (as in freedom) Software. We're also here to provide an environment open to all who wish to learn how to use, and understand free software.

Install Fest: October 12th, 5:00 pm
LUGSB will be holding its annual Install fest during the next meeting. If you have any linux questions come to CS2129 on friday the October 12th at 5:00pm

CEAS Engineering Fair: Wednesday, October 10
Come and join us tomorrow, October 10th, at the Stony Brook Engineering Fair. We will be spreading LUGSB propaganda to interested members.
There will likely be free food, or there was last year.

Roth Regatta Boat Building: Every Weekday at 7:30 pm, until April 27
LUGSB is working with WiCS and SBCS on a boat for the Roth Pond Regatta. We will be working every weekday at 7:30 pm, until the Regatta itself (April 27, 1:00pm). Please try to come and help out as much as you can, even if you can't stay long. We meet in the basement of the library: Click Here for a Map (There will be signs posted) [04/19/07]

Meeting: Friday, April 13, 5:00 pm - Build-a-Box Competition
There will be a LUGSB meeting Friday, April 13, at 5:00 PM in the Computer Science building, Room 2129. We're going to have a fun competition - a goal of which is to assemble a computer from provided parts, install an operating system on it (Linux of course!), and accomplish several goals that will be announced during the competition. Firefox Day: Monday, February 19, 7:30 pm - Firefox Install Fest
LUGSB will be hosting a Firefox Install Fest on Monday, February 19. There will be a Firefox information table at the SAC during the day, from noon until 2:00 pm. There will also be a Firefox Install fest that night, from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. There will be free pizza at the Install Fest and maybe even some give aways, all sponsored by Firefox! CEAS Engineering Fair: Wednesday, October 11, 12:45pm
Come and join us tomorrow, October 11th, at the Stony Brook Engineering Fair. Although we are not yet part of CEAS, CEAS has been kind enough to give us our very own table and banner to recruit new members.
The Engineering Fair is from 12:45 until 3:00 in the Engineering Quad (the area between Heavy, Light, and regular Engineering buildings). There will be free hamburgers and hotdogs, soda, chips, and ice cream! [10/10/06]
