Meeting of 2/5/2004

The first meeting of the Spring 2004 semester went off without a hitch. Mark gave a talk about GnuPG and more generally Public Key Encryption. The most exciting part of the meeting was that it was the first time we had a meeting in CS2129, which is a much better room than the one we used previously. Two pictures of the projector screen are shown below.

Projector screen with a glare This shot shows Mark's desktop with nautilus, gnome-terminal, and xmms running. The desktop is actually a pre-release version of GNOME. The dullness of this image must be a result of some kind of a glare with the camera, because the projector is plenty bright in person.

Projector screen without a glare After some of the lights were shut off, this picture was taken with less of a glare. Here it should be a little easier to see the beauty that is GNOME. In the terminal window you can see evolution being checked out of CVS.
