Meeting of 2006-10-13
This was an very successful meeting. A whopping 19 people attended, setting a record for the highest turnout regular meeting. (The overall record is held by the RevolutionOS screening in 2003 which had 35 attendees.) At the meeting, Josef "Jeff" Sipek gave a talk about compiling kernels (of the Linux variety). After Jeff's talk, Ilya Sukhanov, gave a quick follow-up demo on compiling kernels the Debian way. After the meeting officially ended, Adam Martin showed a small group of interested people how to compile *BSD kernels. Thoughout the meeting, members happily munched on pizza generously provided by Google. Click on the pictures below to see them at higher resolution.
This is before Jeff's presentation started.
After people got their food, they went back to their seats to eat it.
Before the actual presentation, Jeff & the members of the LUG
discussed possible conferences to attend. (Looks like Jeff's listening at
the moment..)
After the meeting ended, a number of members stayed and chatted some more.
